This Privacy Policy describes how OctaApp (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information in connection with our Shopify apps, including the Octa Accessibility Widget (the “App”).

1. Who we are

OctaApp is an independent software publisher that builds apps for the Shopify platform. Our apps are installed and managed through the Shopify App Store and integrate with your Shopify store as an extension.

2. Information we receive

When you install our App on your Shopify store, we may receive access to certain information from Shopify as part of the app installation and permissions flow. The exact scope depends on what the App needs in order to function.

For the Octa Accessibility Widget, we primarily access:

• Basic store information (store name, domain, email)
• App billing and subscription status (to manage Pro features)
• Theme or settings needed to render our accessibility widget on your storefront

We do not use the App to directly read or store Shopify customer order details or payment information.

3. Data we store

In order to provide and improve the App, we may store limited data in our own systems, such as:

• Your shop domain (e.g., mystore.myshopify.com)
• Whether the shop has an active or inactive subscription
• App-related configuration (for example, widget settings)

This data is used solely to deliver the functionality of the App and to determine which features are available (for example, Free vs Pro widgets).

4. Customer data and storefront visitors

The Octa Accessibility Widget runs as a visual layer on top of your storefront to help visitors customize how they see and interact with your site (for example, increasing font size or changing contrast).

We do not use this widget to personally identify your customers or track their browsing across different sites. Any adjustments they make (such as font size) are applied in the visitor’s browser and may be stored locally (for example, via browser storage) so that their preferences persist between page loads.

5. How we use information

We use the information we receive and store to:

• Provide and operate the App and its features
• Determine billing and subscription status via Shopify
• Respond to support requests from merchants
• Maintain and improve app stability and performance

6. Sharing of information

We do not sell or rent your data. We may share limited data with service providers that help us operate the App (for example, hosting or database providers), but only to the extent necessary to provide the service.

In some cases, we may be required to disclose information if required by law or in response to a valid legal request.

7. Data retention and deletion

We retain store and configuration data for as long as your store has our App installed and for a reasonable period afterward (for example, to help with reinstallation or support).

8. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the data we store against unauthorized access, alteration, or loss. However, no system can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.

If you are a Shopify merchant using our App, you can contact us to:

• Request information about what data we have related to your shop
• Request correction or deletion of that data where applicable
• Ask questions about how we handle data
